Before Sedan was officially introduced, Alex Pina (the creator of money robbery) said Oprah’s Diary was open to a spin-off, saying:
“We have a lot of possibilities for some spin-offs, yes, and I think that is thanks to the strong and powerful identities of the characters. We have always wanted characters to have a very complex layered design. So I think almost all the characters in money robbery it has a duality that we would like to see in a spin-off. We could see any of them in other contexts.”
Netflix officially unveiled the new season at the end of November 2021, just a few days before Season 5 Part 2 hit Netflix.
Along with the series announcement, we got a very brief sneak peek at the upcoming spin-off along with the caption (translated into English):
“We already met Berlin in#The Money Heistand now it is the turn of Andrés de Fonollosa. We can already announce that the spin off of his life will arrive in 2023 ”.
Thanks to Netflix’s most recent announcement, we now know that Berlin is coming to Netflix in December 2023.

Alex Pina will return to write the show. He will be working through his production company. Vancouver Media. Atresmedia is also among the producers.

What will Berlin be about?
Well, as the title suggests, we will focus on the titular character Berlin, also known as Andrés de Fonollosa.
There’s still a lot we don’t know about Berlin even though her backstory was explored in Season 5. Including the fact that there are 5 ex-wives, including Tatiana (played by Diana Gomez). She described her relationships on the show as the «5 times she believed in love.»
Since Berlin is, in fact, the brother of The Professor, it’s likely that we’ll be exploring their early years together. We also don’t have much information about the death of his father or how he met Palermo (another Berlin lover), Marseille and Bogotá.
We also get to see more of the heist Berlin pulled off on the Champs Elysees, Paris, where he stole 434 diamonds. We also get to see more of his battle with Helmer myopathy.
At Netflix’s Tudum 2022 event, we heard Pedro Alonso and Alex Pina talk about the upcoming spin-off.
«Love and robberies» was the first sentence that Pina uttered to answer the question about what the new series is about. Added Pina, “This will be a journey through the golden years of the character. When he was robbing all over Europe, madly in love.
We also got to see the first script (known as version 33), whose episode title is «Historias de Paris,» which translates to «Stories of Paris.»
The script was written by David Oliva, David Barrocal, Esther Martínez Lobato and Alex Pina.
