Bills’ Josh Allen ‘Amazed’ After Meeting Tiger Woods: ‘Never Forget’

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is an avid golfer when he’s not dropping pennies on the gridiron, which is why he was in attendance for the final round of the Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., on Sunday. .

It was there that Allen, one of the NFL’s brightest stars, was dazzled.

Tiger Woods was the biggest name in the tournament, not just because his TGR Foundation organized the event, but because it was his first tournament played since the Open Championship last year.

Well, Allen met Woods for the first time, and the Bills caller admitted he couldn’t get the words out.

“You had a good tournament,” Allen told Woods after his final round, where he finally shot one under on his 72 holes.

“I tried,” Woods replied. And he added: “Good luck with everything.”

After recovering a bit, Allen said the moment he met Woods left him “speechless.”

“A little dazzled, obviously. He’s one of the only athletes in history, him and Kobe [Bryant], are the two guys that I really felt my heart beat faster. When he’s standing over a putt for a tournament, I really felt the pressure with him. That’s very interesting – [will] never forget.”

Woods’ efforts at Riviera saw him tied for 45th at the end of the tournament, which Jon Rahm went on to win at 17-under for his third win of the year.

Allen has already made his presence known on the PGA Tour, playing in the recent AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am instead of attending the Pro Bowl. Allen was dealing with an elbow injury at the time.

There’s no word on when Woods will return to the field so others can meet him for the first time, though he did reveal that his goal is to play all the greats this season if his body allows him to.

That would mean The Masters in April would be a good guess when Woods is once again pacing the courses in a tournament setting.
